What is this?

A photography project which will exclusively feature transgender folks who would like new headshots to celebrate their transition. 

If folks would like their photos to be part of this project, that would be great, but it certainly not required to have your headshots made.

Where will the photographs be made?

At a place where each individual feels best represents their journey. For example, it could be at home, work, or some other favorite place that has special meaning. Props that help tell the story are always welcome, but not necessary.

What do you hope to accomplish with this project?

To celebrate folks who are transitioning. This is more than photography; it is designed to lift up and celebrate uniqueness and beauty. The project will encourage other folks along their journey. We have already seen this happening. 

Why are you doing this?

To give back to the trans community that nurtured and helped my daughter.

I firmly believe in the power of photography to transform, heal, celebrate and give expression to feelings in a way that words cannot. I have seen photography literally change lives. Also: everyone needs headshots!

How will the photographs be used?

Headshots will be provided to those who are photographed at no charge. If folks wish, we will include them in this project online and in a gallery exhibition.

Do you expect to make money from this project?

No.

Are you looking for a particular type of person?

No. In fact, I hope to photograph a great diversity of folks .Again to celebrate the human spirit without regard to race, creed, job title, or social status. The only requirement is folks who have started along the road to transition.

Can other people be in my photos?

Yes. Anyone who it important to your story is welcome to be in the photos. 

Do I get to see the photos before you make them public?

Yes. Your consent and approval will always be honored prior to showing the photos.

Why would I want to do this?

There are many reasons that folks have for being part of this project. It’s a new, true you! Celebrate with professional photos. You will also have digital copies of the photos to use for your social media, giving to family or friends, or for your business headshots. Also, your photos will encourage another along their journey. You will make a difference in someone else’s life.
